Teacher Appreciation Day 2021: Guitar Hero Edition
Educators have once again stepped up big time in response to another pandemic school year, and their students have noticed
Teaching can be a challenge under even the best of circumstances—and the circumstances in 2021, thanks to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, were massively challenging. Toggling between in-person and Zoom classes while ensuring all students received the education they're entitled to and continuing to balance kids' desire to learn with their responsibilities at home further confirmed what we've always known: teachers are essential —and absolutely heroic. But we're not the only ones who have noticed. Their students have, too, especially those enrolled in AP classes.
We've rounded up some of the love teachers have been getting from students (and sometimes parents). It's exactly what we all need in these strange, uncertain times. If you're a student (or a parent or even a fellow teacher) who wants to give a shout-out to a great teacher, send us an email or tweet us @CBelective.
Mrs. Kerry Johanson and Mr. Linus Downes are your best AP teachers. Cherish them. Give them desserts and money. They are the best.

I had a very good teacher who made this class interesting and fun. I always looked forward to this class because of the teacher. You almost never knew what to expect bc he would change it up and always kept it interesting. When some of us started getting stressed out he would always reassure us and make us feel more relaxed about whatever we're doing by stating how prepared each of us are for what we're doing. Mr. Lamb is a great teacher.

Give Mr. Swartzentruber, at Barr-Reeve High School, a raise. He put in so much effort so that we may succeed on our AP exams even though most of our resources were online after the quarantine.

Mr. Scalice (Don Scalice) and Mr. Schreiber (Thomas Schreiber) were two of the best AP teachers I have ever had. They took time to entertain us with the material and taught us even when we didn't notice it. after the pandemic cancelled in school class. they also took personal time to email us and schedule zooms which were entertaining and fun. I miss being in their class and believe they deserve recognition for how much they cared for us.
